You can verify that a vendor is an independent service provider or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Independent repairers have access to genuine Apple parts and repair resources. Independent repairers do not offer repairs covered by Apple warranty or AppleCare* plans, but may offer their own repair warranty. Australia: The rights described in this policy with respect to returns, refunds and warranties are in addition to the statutory rights you have under the Consumer and Competition Act 2010 and other applicable Australian consumer protection laws and regulations. Our products are supplied with warranties that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to compensation or reimbursement for a major defect and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You also have the right to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the defect does not constitute a material defect. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type instead of being repaired. Reconditioned parts can be used to repair the goods. Repair of goods may result in loss of data. The express limited warranty gives you certain legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state, province or jurisdiction. 3.1 Service Guarantee. For all Service Orders, Apple warrants that (1) the Services provided will conform to their description ninety (90) days from the Service Date, (2) except for the batteries described in the subsection below, all parts or products used in the Service will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for ninety (90) days from the Service Date, and (3) batteries installed as part of Apple`s Battery Replacement Service for Apple Mac notebooks; are free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of service. This warranty is an express limited warranty. If nonconforming service is provided or a defect occurs in a replacement part or product during the applicable warranty period, Apple (a) will re-perform the Services as described (b) repair or replace the part or product, using new or equivalent parts or products in performance and reliability; or (c) refund any amounts paid to Apple for the Service. 5. Apple may use new or equivalent parts or products in terms of reliability and performance. Apple retains ownership of the replaced part or product and you will retain ownership of the replacement part. Replaced parts are generally repairable and will be replaced or repaired by Apple for a fee.
If Apple is required by applicable law to return a replaced part to you, you agree to pay Apple the additional cost of the replacement item. b In-service direct mail. If Apple determines that your product is eligible for direct mail, send it to Apple`s repair service following Apple`s instructions. Apple may provide prepaid packing slips (and if you no longer have the original packaging, Apple may send you packing materials). If Apple does not provide prepaid packing slips or packing slips, you must arrange for your product to be shipped and packaged at Apple`s repair center as described at the time of ordering, and you should consider insuring your package in case of damage or loss during shipping. Once the repair service is complete, Apple Repair Service will return the repaired product or provide you with a replacement product. For customers in Austria or Germany: Apple may withhold your product until you have paid all repair costs in full. If you have not collected your Product and paid all applicable fees within sixty (60) days of Apple`s notification that your Product has been repaired, Apple will require you to collect the Product and/or accept delivery of the Products upon payment of the Fee. Without prejudice to Apple`s rights to recover damages, you are responsible for all costs incurred in securing the Products. Apple reserves its statutory and other statutory privileges on unpaid charges. Waive the on-site visit fee for mobile repairs (if available in your country or region) a) An estimate of the repairs required (California Business and Professions Code Section 9844) will be provided to the customer in writing by the service dealer. The service dealer may not charge for any work or part delivered beyond the cost estimate without the prior consent of the customer.
